Protein pre cast gels from DGel Electrosystems

Montreal, Canada, January 5th, 2007 –

Dgel Electrosystems, a manufacturer of innovative products for proteomic research,  including a new generation of pre cast gels for protein and nucleic acid electrophoresis today announced that they signed an distribution agreement with Nippon Genetics Europe GmbH in Germany. Under the terms of the agreement, Nippon Genetics Europe GmbH received the exclusive distribution rights for Europe and Japan.

The new generation of pre cast gels, called ID gels (www.idgel.com ) have several features for our customers worldwide, said Pierre Sevigny, CSO of DGel Electrosystems. Pre cast gels have to be as convenient as possible and we learned a lot from the needs and complaints many customers described us.

The market of pre cast gels for proteomic research is growing very rapidly during the last five years, Dr. Juergen Luenzer, Managing Director from Nippon Genetics Europe said. Actually one of the biggest hurdle is a competitive pricing and we can compare the situation with NAP kits ten years ago. If it will be possible to offer a consumer friendly high quality pre cast gels, we assume that a lot customer will think about to use pre cast gels in the future. Almost nobody is doing a CsCl centrifugation today because the development of anion exchanger and spin columns, a more competitive pricing and convenience has become successful. We know Mr. Sevigny a long time and we recognized his long term experience and knowledge about these products. We are very optimistic about this cooperation and the possibilities to market these innovative products.
